Is it possible to deactivate a tom tom like a phone. Car got broken into and they took somethings along with the tom tom that has our house in it. Stupid I know to store it in there.

No. The GPS signal does not transmit information that is specific to any one receiver. All GPS receivers get the same, generic data which they each process to calculate their position.

It's always a good idea to have a PIN code set. It makes it less saleable to the casual thief, though there are probably ways round the PIN.

As Fwor (great name!) says - nope, can't be done I'm afraid.

I have the road next to mine set as my 'home' just in case my TomTom gets pinched.

Are you afraid of that they will return your car to your address?

Seriously, if you didn't leave your keys in your car and they haven't "visited" your house within the next couple of hours after they stole it, this information is of the same "value" than any other address. Unless you left something very valuable in the car and the thief assumes that there is more to get...
