Giving notice

Hi,
take a meter reading on the day you leave the flat (keep a note of it in-case of any queries later) and contact swalec.
Give them your final readings and new address to send final statement to, I presume you are paying by direct debit, so cancel it after your August payment.
If you are over paid you will get a refund, if you owe a bit it will show on your final statement.0 -
Is the flat rented? If so make sure the LL is there when you read the meter and both keep a copy (photo is also a good idea). You then phone supplier with 'move out' reading and LL should contact them to take over flat until he rents it again.
I wouldn't cancel the DD until the final bill has been paid.

Hiya guys I'm moving out of my flat on the 31st august I was just wondering how much notice I need to give swalec. Do I just ring up with my meter readings? When will my last payment be??
11. Termination11.1 The supply of Energy to the Address will be terminated:
...
(b) on the date you no longer own or occupy the Address,
provided you give us at least 2 working days’ prior written
notice. Otherwise it will terminate on the first to occur of:
(i) the second working day after you’ve given us written
notice; or
(ii) the date that Energy is supplied to the Address under
a contract or a deemed contract with someone else.
So best to give the 2 working days notice required. You will probably be asked to call back on the day you leave to provide final meter readings ... and even if not asked, you should do so anyway"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
