I'm struggling on the old no spend front here guys...help me!
(A little bit of background...)
In the past week I have had what I thought was terrible jaw pain - saw the dentist and he has started me on treatment.
Then, I had what started out as painful and ended up agonising pain on my ahem extreme lower back
Long story short, had an abscess, ended up in A & E Thursday/Friday morning and had an operation on Friday afternoon. I now have daily visits down to the surgery to have very painful dressing changes (they leave it as an open wound - yuk).
AND THEN, my bf doesn't visit me in hospital, send me a card, nothing...and when I told him how much that hurt my feelings, he dumped me - after nearly 2 years.
Now I want to spend some money, you know that good ol' retail therapy, cos I feel thoughly miserable and sorry for myself.
My Mum's taking me to Bluewater on Saturday to cheer me up a bit...think I may actually have to spend the £28 worth of boots points I've got saved up :rotfl:
Thanks for listening to a right old moan xxxx

Hun, what a crap time you're having.. And what a loser of a b/f, WELL SHOT of him I say :T
I'm a nurse and know the pain those abcesses cause. Be kind to yourself, have a good old cry, take it easy and enjoy your day out with your Mum.
Oh and spend a little, go on you deserve it...

I have had 2 of those 'lower back' things - sooo painful!! And embarrassing too when the dressing is changed. My heart goes out to you. Everytime now I get a twinge I panic that it's another one!!
If you ask me, that's what Boots points are for - spending!! You're well shot of the boyfriend too.
Have a great time on Saturday, wish I lived near Bluewater, mind you, probably not a good idea!!Ciggie free 2am 21/09/06. Debt free 25/06/09.'It was such a lovely day I thought 'it's a pity to get up'' W. Somerset Maugham.0 -
hope that wasn't too tight a hug!!!
have a free splurge at boots - that's what the points were made for!!!!
swine of a man........A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Well honey -
Have a hug & a beer
The ex sounds a real charmer  You're well shot there - should have had him lanced as well as your absess. Still he has slimed off now, So you will be available to meet some drop dead gorgeous, sweet, kind, caring guy that lurves paying for your retail therapy.
Have a couple of spendy (get over the rat) days - but make sure you set yourself a date to get back into your none spending.
The sooner your back in control of your finances the sooner other things will start to fall into place in other parts of your life.
Hope youre feeling better soon

Hi laurajayne,
I read a previous thread of yours on one of the other boards hear and wondered how you were getting on - I think most would probably agree that your bf has done you a favour. So go out there and celebrate your freedom - get some nice pamper stuff with those Boots points and wave goodbye to your past with him and HELLO to the future.
Well done you x

What a terrible time you're having - ((hugs))
Was your bf one of those that needed his brow mopped and a foot massage at the slightest hint of a sniffle?
Try to enjoy spending your points - you could use some for early christmas shopping so you don't feel so bad about spending.
If you don't mind me asking - what was wrong with your jaw and what treatment are you getting.0 -
just wanted to add my go out and have a few wild day's spending ..just give yourself a limit and don't go over it ....you could even set yourself a task ..how far can you make £££££ go ..either way have fun ...0
