Hoping someone will know what the problem might be,
we have a Panasonic Freesat Tv and have for a while with a great picture. Today have added a Panasonic DMR-BS750EB and the picture quality is not so good as it was, both feeds from the quad dish are in the back of the bluray player so it can record, any ideas appreciated?

It seems we might need a booster so can anyone recommend one please, don't want to end up buying a rubbish one.Too many children, too little time!!!0

It may be that your blu-ray recorder has receivers that are a little less sensitive than the TV, and your dish is slightly out of alignment.
I recently did an alignment check on my parents dish (unchecked since thrown onto the wall by the Sky "installer") and it was way out...0 -
Why don't you just run a separate feed from your dish to the TV?
I assume you have connected the DVD recorder using HDMI?That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

We have two feeds straight from the dish to the player, so you think maybe we should put in a 3rd to the tv, would that not just make the problem worse as we are then splitting it 3 ways? And yes a HDMI cable.Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
Is it plugged into the tv through HDMI and set to output in 1080?0

HDMI cable has nothing to do with it, the signal was degrading going into the recorder and out into the TV (all satellite cable). Ideal solution is in post 4. Get another feed down from the dish, there's probably a quad LNB in it already as dual ones are quite rare (Sky only ever did single or quad). You will also be able to record 2 channels and watch a 3rd, which you can't do with your current setup.0

When Sky+ came out, sky were installing dual lnbs. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

Thanks, I have put one of the leads back into the TV for now and it's fine, it is a decent HDMI cable, but what do I need to do to check the output?
On most panasonic recorders, you set the resolution by pressing the menu button, go "to others" and then in the video settings there's something like "output: HDMI
Resolution: ***"
under resolution it may be showing 576p. If so, change it to 1080i.0
