Best place to buy a second hand Xbox 360?

I had a quick search of the forum and I couldn't find anything similar and if this is in the wrong place please move it.
I want to buy an Xbox 360 and I think at the moment all I can afford is a second hand one. Where is the best place to get them and is there anything I should look out for when buying one?
Cex seems to be quite cheap and they offer a 1 year warranty. I would go into the store and buy it after seeing all the negativity both on here and on Cex's facebook page!
Cash convertors seems to be about the same price but I am not sure about the warranty they offer.
Gamestation are £69.99 for a used one but they only offer a 28 day warranty on it (and knowing my luck mine would break on the 29th!!)
I am wary to buy one off eBay as there would be no warranty that comes with this.
Can anyone help me?
I would also be open to getting a PS3 instead but I know they are quite a bit more expensive. Are they more reliable than Xbox's and apart from the Blu-ray player aspect (I don't have a HD-TV yet as i plan to get one with my girlfriend in the Christmas sales) is there any other way I can justify getting one of these instead?

Honestly, don't buy used. The standard design is being discounted to hell now they've released the new slim design. The Xbox 360s have a tendency to last 12 months then go pop. I've had four Xbox 360's in 3 years and all failed with RROD, the last one failing a month after the 3 year RROD warranty ran out. I have bought a new slim 360 in the hope that it'll be better - it certainly is far quieter.
I've had one PS3 throughout that time however I would still go with the 360 as the whole online experience is far better.0 -
Where have you seen the discounted Xbox's as I have been looking and can't really see any?0

Everywhere. There's a price drop on at the moment at just about all retailers with the launch of the new console which is probably why you don't think there are any.0

I bought one from Cash Generator a year ago or so, for 70 quid. Still going strong. It had, iirc, a 6 month warranty. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

Thanks for your help guys. I ended up getting a PS3 free with my latest phone contract but thanks again for your help.0

Heh-heh...nice result. There's not much in it for games available for both consoles.0
