Solicitors fees for selling

Hi all
Sorry if this has been covered before, but what should I expect to pay solicitors to sell my house?
There's no chain, and it should be fairly straightforward I think (was when I bought it) - it's on the market for £185k but think I'll probably get less.
I've had one quote from a recommended (by a friend and EA) solicitor at £399 + vat.
I'm in West Yorkshrie and don't know if that's good or not
I'm off on hols on Sat and really want to get this going before I go (EA has keys!) so not a lot of time to shop around.
Thanks!

£250 - £300 is the average up north for a sale at that price0

sounds too low...ask for ALL costs including fees..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
up north are where the bulk conveyancers are...be carefulMy posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:
My bad spelling...well I rush type these opinions on my own time, so sorry, but they are free.:o0
