Will I be able to use my Nokia 6300 for tethering?0

Different angle on the thread.
Is there an email program that allows me to download my emails from various providers (hotmail, yahoo and my work one), then jump on my train, read them, catch up with things, possibly answer a few, and although they may not be sent straight away, they will end up in a kind of outbox, ready to be sent as soon as a connection is available.
I was wondering if Outlook, Outlook Express or Thunderbird are able to do such things?0 -
Just to answer the original question:
East Coast trains have free WiFi for all passengers (or even non passengers technically, if you sit next to one that is stopped). I don't know any other operator that provides this though.0 -

I'm assuming you probably can do something like that with Outlook or Thunderbird after you do the initial configuration and import your emails.
However, I can confirm that it is possible with Gmail accounts - you install the Google Gears software first, then you enable it from your Gmail account settings and it will do an initial download of your emails. I had a couple of email accounts which racked up several thousands emails in each inbox and I wanted to selectively clear them out but never had the time or will to do it... then I had a trip to Australia and its over 24 hours of flying time in each direction, so I loaded up Google gears, downloaded all the emails and did a big clean up while on the plane. It will let you reply to emails and all the usual stuff like searches, deleting etc and then it synchs your changes when you next go online.
