Unrecognised Credit card Charges

Hi everyone,
This is my first ever post so please excuse any basic beginner mistakes I may make!
Ok, my question:
I took my eye off the ball for the last year with regard to my finances. As a result I have only just noticed that 3 seperate unrecognised charges are being applied to my credit card every month, since last October. Each charge is for approx £20 so for 9 months thats over £540.
Im currently going through the dispute process with Tesco Finance, but my problem is that they are claiming they are only able to refund for a 3 month period previous to me lodging my dispute. they say that this is actually financial law, not just company policy.
If this is true then I remain lumped with £360 worth of unrecognised charges! which is a prospect im not thrilled about.
Can anyone confirm if this is true, and what my basic rights are please. Plus, any other advice / suggestions you think applicable.
thanks in advance,
Jay

Can you find out who it's gone to and try a refund from them? No idea about the three month liability, but to be fair it isn't their fault you haven't checked your bill. They'll not be wanting to be stuck with the bill either.0

Your banks correct.
the timeframe they will be referring to is the chargeback timescales allowed by visa/mastercard/amex.
you have generally 120 days from the transaction date for chargeback to be done.
If you have not checked your statement thats your fault unfortunately.
You have a care of duty to check your statements each month to check all items are correct.
I very much doubt their fraud department ( if in fact you have not made these payments) will touch all the previous ones either, as they too are out of time to be able to chargeback the amounts aswell.
From the very brief info,if its the same outs roughly each month, from my experience you have signed up for some Continuous payment authority and havent cancelled.
Whats the company that are billing you each month?0
