IPod and Bluetooth

I trawled the interweb last night with no luck on this, so I cast the question out to you all

I have a 3g IPod Touch 32gb running os4, and was wondering if (and how), in an un-jailbroken state, you can bluetooth it to a mobile (with data plan) and access the interweb?

Any ideas

Version 3 of the OS has enabled bluetooth, but I doubt for one minute it is going to allow pairing to a mobile phone.

You might also want to check with your mobile provider that they allow you to use your mobile as a modem with your current data plan, most of them restrict the data usage to the phone itself.

Thanks. Yes they do as I have used it many times in the past as a modem on my laptop (with better speeds than my broadband at times)

I can pair to to my phone no problem, just unsure what (if) to do next

If you have already paired successfully, you need to check that the DUN (Dial Up Networking) service is available.

Thats what I was afraid of. I am certain there is an app for a jailbroken Touch to do it, but of course nothing for OS4

If your phone has wi-fi, there is software that turns the phone into a wi-fi hotspot which you could then use on the iPod touch to get online.

Sweet, thanks for the link fitshase. Will check it out

Edit: If you have a Nokia, the Joikusoft is on Ovi store for £8.00

Just downloading it now and see if it works

Edit2: And it does YAY. a little slow, but set the encryption on it (defaults to none) and away you go
