  • PCWorld doing a nice spec. wifi Toshiba for £499 - it's full-on displayed in their stores, 2 friends have bought them & I'm well impressed.
  • I ordered this one today:

It's now temporarily out of stock but seems to be a good deal. A lot of the cheaper low-end laptops seem to be shoddily built and have short battery lives. Found favourable online reviews for this and it has good features. You might get better deals if you wait for the universities to start but my daughter needed one for college now.

The Dell Inspiron 1300 is consistently one of the cheapest wireless laptops around. You can often get it for under £400.
