I never use companies that contact me out of the blue!
Apart from the fact that it may well be an intrusion, why aren't they so busy that they cannot spare the time to be touting for business?
Ask around your neighbourhood to find out who has had it done, by whom, and are they happy with the standard of work and the results.0 -
Our local council will insulate cavity walls for £99 for any house - subject to access, scaffolding etc. Some councils will do it for free if you have children, give yours a ring.

Energycare .co.uk, were doing cavity wall insulation for between £99 and £149 recently. Others were doing it for a bit more but still way less than £430.0

All depends on house type and size.
4 bed detached house -allowance is 140m2 for cavity wall insulation anything over would be £5/m2. Base price depends on how much utility funding has been secured and can be anything from £49 - £149 but shouldn't be any more.
If core price is £100 and your house is 142m2 cost would be £100 + 2x£5 = £100
Checkout the Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre in your area for free impartial advice 0800 512 012 or bookmysurvey on 0800 093 5239 they broker deals for insulation across a number of installersoffering the best price available in your area.

Agreed, I choose the company, they don't choose me.;)0 -
I've just paid £149 to Southern Electric contracting (for a big 3 bed semi). I went on to the energy saving trust initially and got names of companies offering grants and discounts then contacted them direct.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0
