Top table HELP!!

How would you seat a top table with the following ten people:

MOH - my sister
MB - My mum
FB - My dad
BRIDE - Me :p
Groom

(THAT'S THE EASY PART)

Then theres:

The Best man, Real mum, Step Dad, Real Dad, Step mum

I'm pulling my hair out trying to keep people happy

Groom wants to keep them apart, but I don't want his real mum sitting next to him :(

Could the venue do you a T shape top table? Thats what we had and on it were:
Across the top - my future step mum, my dad, me, groom, his mum, his step dad

On the 'stalk' - his dad, his step mum, BM (groom's young sister), my mum, his nan

It worked really well, and even though I felt bad putting my mum on the 'stalk' of the T she was actually just as close as my dad. We put the best man on a table with his GF and other family members rather than split him and his GF up.

Does he want his real Mum sat next to him though?

We're having a banqueting style table and across the top will seat 5, that will be me, OH and the 3 children.

Down one side will be my Dad, my Mum, Mum's husband and so on.

On the other side will be OH's bro (best man) his Grandparents, then his parents and so on.

Can you not just have a sweetheart table for the both of you?

Is it just you with the problem, or does your OH feel the same way?

No one needs a top table, it'd only be unfair on them if his parents were sat beside you and they weren't.

Have a sweetheart table, you two on your own?

Don't have a top table, have one big one?

He knows the reasoning and understands.

4nnabella, I think you are a STAR!!! I'm will speak to my parents later and explain the situation and ask them very nicely if they would help us out by sitting like that. Thank you so much

Thank you everyone for your suggestions

    Lol you're welcome :)

I just did the traditional top table layout and slotted in the two step parents with their partners.

Hope it all works out! :)

if you are going for a formal layout, his real mum wouldnt be sitting next to him anyway

you usually have the bride and groom flanked by the brides parents, then the grooms mum sits next to the brides dad, and the grooms dad sits next to the brides mum, with everyone following on down from that. so you could then sit the respective step-parents next to their partner, as both parents will be at opposite ends of the table anyway

however, most people work on the basis, that step parents dont get to sit at top table, unless you are closer to them, than your real parents
