Replacing brake pads, discs slightly worn
I ordered a set or rear brake pads and rear brake discs seperately. The pads have arrived but I don't think the discs will turn up for another couple of days. I desperately need to change my pads today, but the discs are a bit worn. Will it cause problems changing my pads tonight, then changing the discs next weekend? Would it damage my new pads at all?
Thanks everyone. I know I could just wait until my discs turn up but the pads are seriously low.

Depends on how badly worn the discs are as to whether it will "damage" the pads, but you really don't fit secondhand pads when fitting brand new discs as the pads will have already started shaping themselves to the discs that are already on the car.
So long as the pads aren't down to bare metal at the moment (you'll know when they are, because it will be metal on metal when braking), just wait until the new discs turn up and fit the lot in one go.
Don't forget to get yourself a can of brake cleaner, you'll need it to properly degrease the new discs before you fit them.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
The old discs will wear grooves into the the new pads, it's better to pair them up so they wear in naturally.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Metal on metal isn't that when everyone changes their pads?
Seriously though. As above leave the job until the discs arrive.0 -
Cheers guys
Well it's not metal on metal yet but it is making a nasty squeek. Will stretch it out for another few days
