Currys returns policy help please

Hi
yesterday I purchased a Disgo Netbrowser from Currys and I am really unhappy with it. I do realise it isn't a laptop with laptop capabilities (and I did only pay £88 for it). However I don't feel that it's really fit for purpose, doesn't seem to do what 'it says on the tin'!
I bought it to use whilst commuting for doing emails and basic web browsing. On trying it out for the first time I find that it struggles to open emails, takes ages to delete mail if I try to delete more than one at a time and is generally pretty poo
I would like to return it if possible, where do I stand? It has been turned on and used (allbeit for less than 10 mins).
My receipt says 28 day money back gaurantee, but I am assuming this means unopened? The receipt also says if my item develops a fault within 28 days they'll refund or replace.... but it doent's seem to have a fault as such (is just rubbish!)
Can anyone advise me how to tackle this with Currys and how I'm likely to get on please?
Thanks for reading.

What internet connection are you using?? I find my internet on my netbook is 'sluggish' when I use the mobile broadband but not a problem when connected to my home broadband.... So the problem may actually lie with the internet connection rather than the netbook....0

Hi, thanks for your reply. It was using my home 10 meg broadband connection, so assumed that would be ok?

Try doing a speed test on your Broadband see what that comes out at also if its just your emails it could be the layout of them try using a text only option if there is one which should stop all the fancy pics etc0

Sorry OP without being to mean, the user reviews out there are not that great for it:-

Thanks Hintza, shouldv'e looked at the reviews before buying I guess! Seems it would definatly have been worth spending a bit more for a decent netbook.
Broadband speed is fine thanks Lee, will look at text only if I am unsucessful with my quest to get a refund from Currys!0 -
Unfortunately if it's not faulty, they are not obliged to give you anything.
You could try discussing it's crapness with the store manager, and maybe demonstrating how slow it is in the hope he/she is in a good mood and will refund it, but as they don't have a change of mind policy for opened goods, I doubt they will take it back.Dogs have owners...my cat has slaves...0 -
They're under no legal obligation to refund you, but a chat with the manager (not the floor monkey) might get you somewhere. I think your best bet is to actually buy a laptop from Currys and suggest that they take the netbrowser back and knock the 88 quid off the price of the lappy."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
