Closing Santander account.

Day 3, and as promised (which makes a change for them) the account appears to be closed.

It shows still when I log in to online banking but everything shows as "unavailable" on the summary screen. There are entries on both this and the joint account marked "account closure" for the transfer of the 6p.

so did you actualy manage to get your account closed over the phone without having to go into a branch or write?

Everything is detailed in this thread.

So here's the cliffnotes....

Phoned Santander.
Asked to close account.
They didn't ask why.
Said account would be closed within 3 days.
On day 3 the account is showing as closed.
6p transfered to Joint account with an entry of "closure of account".
