I've had 2 kitchens from B&Q (supply only as I fitted them myself). The first with no problems, except they delivered the wrong worktops (but as my building work hadn't been completed when it arrived, the 3 day delay wasn't a problem).
The second was a nightmare. Having moved house not long after completing my initial kitchen, it was de ja vu, as our new house wanted, well new everything, so the kitchen was first on the list.
We ordered the same kitchen as previously. The service was terrible. Items were missing when it was delivered, goods that were delivered were damaged and took weeks to get replaced, only by products in a worse condition than the original ones. In the end Mrs Teleaddict went to the local press about them. B&Q told the paper that they were most disturbed by our experience and that they would be forwarding vouchers worth £100 to compensate us. That was over 5 years ago. I'm still waiting for the vouchers................
    My £2 savings total for 2007 = £92, for 2008 = £124
    My savings from money off coupons for 2007 = £67.97, for 2008 = £194.79
    My £2 savings for 2009 (so far) = £130
My savings from money off coupons for 2009 = £593.08
  • My B&Q kitchen is fab. No probs with delivery etc. Looks great 3 yrs after fitting - only my 'busiest' cupboard door needs a hinge adjustment - easy job. I did get the sink, most appliances and the worktops elsewhere though and got it fitted by a man who was recommended by a neighbour. My only issue was that I tried to get them to price match with an Ikea kitchen that one of their salesmen had agreed was comparable. When I went back to them with my comparable kitchen from Ikea, the head of the kitchen section refused on some spurious grounds. I went back to the bloke who helped design it and 'leeway' was found so I was happy in the end.

Don't go with their fitters, seek out an independent and get them to quote you fitting.

Yep, and your local (trusted) builder will quote you not alot for this. Make sure you get one recommended by the fmb though - they should, or your council should, be able to provide a list of those local to you.

A new kitchen, how exciting. Wish I could have one!!

Just another thing, my friend got a kitchen from B&Q and it's lasted well for the past year and looks really nice

Oh yes, I forgot I meant to mention Wickes which someone also mentioned. One thing we were looking out for when entering into the pit that is kitchens, was how long the warranty is. I found the lowest to be 2 years and the best 10 years, but of course check the small print anyway.

Tesco Kitchens has a fairly good warranty I believe, and along the same price par. Oh, and you get clubcard points! http://www.tescokitchens.com/
