our story :
After 6 weeks on market accepted offer June 30.
next morning 09.20 our full offer accepted on house we wanted ,same day 15.30 EA rang and said they had accepted a higher offer = gazumped.
next day afternoon they said ok will accept our offer--ok.
Had survey done etc then EA call "sorry they are taking off the market" !
Ok here we go again , in the meanwhile our seller progressing as our buyers not in a chain.
Find another property all ok offer accepted and arrange survey etc ,the survey took place on Monday late morning .at 14.00 EA call sorry the seller can not go through with sale and is taking it off the market -they had no chain as elderly btut to let the surveyor in and left me a bill.
What next , we viewed another property new on the market at 20.30 that evening and proper sellers, house was the best seen .
The sellers will rent to help us , offer accepted 09.30 yesterday morning.
informed my solicitor and then 1/2 hour later my solicitor call me ,"just opened the post and a letter from your buyers solictors, they will not be proceeding with the purchase" !! no reason given.
No one had beibg informed EA etc.
To conclude our EA informed that they had offer accepted on the other side of the city on an empty house -even though we were no chain as prepared to rent.
So upsetting and frustrating , we need a similar system to Scotland .
We keep the house on the market a reduced price

Why not sell your house, go into rented for 6 months whilst you find your 'dream house'?
This is not financial nor legal nor property advice. Consult a paid professional if in doubt.
