Compress old files

I regularly do a disk cleanup, and although I have the box ticked to get rid of compress old files they are still there, I now have over 50,000, how can i get rid of these does anyone know please.

disk cleanup compresses them, but doesn't delete them as they are still needed for the system to work.
try https://www.ccleaner.com if you want a cleanup.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

I also add in ccleaner to clean out temporary fiels which are files that were used for net/unzipping files/installation temporary files.
Go into ccleaner options/custom
Add folder C:\Documents and Settings\MY login name (see below)\Local Settings\Temp
Then in ccleaner go into advanced and untick box, only delete files odler than 48 hours
You may have to go into view tools on my computer (where it opens all your hard drive/cd roms) view and tick box, show hidden files
Where I said(see below) that being your login name if you have multiple logins0
