I get regular emails from them - at least one a week telling me of their latest offers....they just don't offer me free delivery! :rotfl:
But then I do order from them every fortnight, so they clearly don't fear that I might go elsewhere - the gits! lol
Although that may just come back and bite them in the bum, cos I'm seriously considering giving Te$cos a go now I know I can do it via My$upermarket. I did a pretend comparison shop on there last week, and they were only like £1.50 dearer than A$da, and with the £10 off a £50 shop voucher and any ClubCard points I gained, it would work out a lot cheaper.
Until notjustlaura and wssla00 pointed it out, I didn't realise you could then go on to order your pretend shop!(what a dimwit!!) I'd only ever used to it compare prices.
Maybe if I alternate my fortnightly shops A$da might think I've left, panic, and send me a free delivery voucheralthough given that I only spend £50-£60 every 2 weeks, I very much doubt that they'd care

I regularly get emails from Mr A offering me free delivery - but I've never used them for home delivery with my current account (lost access to my old one in the past - and only used them once with the old account as they totally b@llsed it up)
Only problem is I have to spend £50 to get the free delivery, and I don't spend anything like that in their store..... I go once every 4-6 weeks and spend £15-£20 max !!!
Have recently had several from Mr T as well - used them a few times about 4 years ago, but then they made a mess of two deliveries on the trot so I stopped - but they have the same restriction, and I only spend about the same there (apart from petrol, which they won't do on home delivery)

I've finally spent some of my grocery money. I made it almost 3 weeks. I wandered into a supermarket after work yesterday to see what reduced stuff I could find and I got some steak and casserole beef. I also got a bag of chips, which I'm slightly annoyed about, but I'd been craving them for ages and I did manage to hold off for a while.
So spending total so far is $11.80. I'll be spending a bit more either today or tomorrow; one of the shops has some of my tinned goods on special so I'm gonna stock up on them. Now that I've started spending I have to really watch myself, it would be so easy to get back in the habit of just buying things.0 -
Quick update from me - up To £310.80 - unbelievably low! Would have been lower but I took advantage of the £5 in Mr T's coupon from the Sun. Have another to use before next weekend too..... May need to buy some stuff and return it - cos I certainly don't need food - my freezer is full, as are my cupboards and fridge. I have apples and plums by the carrierbag full (2 of each) - might make some jam this week! Will need to find some space in freezer to freeze the stuff in fridge before we go away for the weekend
Still need to add on small spend for chips on Sat for children - about £4 something, I think - need to ask OH. We had chinese takeaway from what used to be fab place (should be @ £17.50 for meal for 2!!) - wasn';t as nice as it always has been, but fed me & OH Sat night (with DS3 having a wee bit), Me & DS1 (and another wee bit for DS3) today and there's a good portion left of one of the dishes (and a bit of rice) - so I'll have that tomorrow to finish it - so at least it was longlasting!!
Spends helped slightly by DS2 stopping using pull ups - yeay! Have 2/3rds pack left - will use a few when camping next weekend at night (*just* in case....) and put the rest away for when DS3 is that size
Think I'll chop the budget next month. Am successfully ignoring all email offers sent to me by Messrs A & S and also Ocado...I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

Morning all, I checked my bank balances this morning, and BOY OH BOY is this challenge helping reduce my OD! That has inspired me to keep it up.
Soaked lots of pulses overnight, meat defrosted, all in SC making up a batch of stew. Should get a few dinners out of that (todays main, tomorrows lunch and one for Mr Freeze) going on a pasta and rice week (I have lots!)
There is just ONE thing...my fridge is bare! now normally this would result in me popping to the shops buying loads of crip just to look full, but... I am looking at it like this "Empty fridge = Empty Overdraft!"

Hi everyone,
Been a while since I posted anything.
Well, dont even know from where to start.
The whole month was going so well.. I had managed to save 240 pounds, for the first time ever!!
Saturday morning talking to hubby about how things were improving and even said: IF NOTHING HAPPENS, WE SHOULD HAVE A NICE LITTLE POT before Christmas.
Got ready, went out.. when we looked at our car I nearly fainted! Someone damaged the windscreen beyond repair and knocked our side mirror (driver`s side - so no way it was another car!). Because we are both quite young, I am 26 and hubby is 24, we WOULD have to pay he insurance excess 280!! Well, it doesnt get any better.. if we claim through insurance the premiums will go sky rocket high.. oh the joys of youth lol. So, we have decided to not go through the insurance which is going to cost us 383!:eek:
Thats all the money I had managed to save plus everything that was left to keep us going until payday, apart from 40.00.
Last summer holiday weekend, at homeI am feeling so down at the moment, its like that everytime I try to save money. Something has to happen.
Now I have to feed all of us until the 01st with 30.00 because 10.00 I am going to put on the gas card and I will have to use my electricity emergency to keep us going until then, as there is only 3.00 left! I just feel like swearing and screaming soooo much
I will try and stretch the money. Have touse my Nectar points - have 10.00 there and my copper coins too.. there is about 6.50 in 1 and 2p`s (was saving those for Xmas)
And its back to Square 0. Nevermind, I will not give up. Chin up and I will save up again next month, hopefully even more as there will be no more weekends out :rotfl:
Hope you all have a great day xx
L.
P.S.: hey-hoo, hey-hoo off to update my sig I go lolol0 -
Sorry to hear the news, laisbojar. I remember not going through insurance for a couple of car break ins when OH & I were young. The only positive that you can gain from this is that you have managed to save that amount of money before it happened - so it won't be going on the CC/ OD. A small positive, but it *is* there.... and you WILL get to that stage again of having some money saved... xI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200

Hi I just looked at my mr A home page and they try to get me to home shop almost every week (I use mr T) so I looked and found two codes for £5 off shopping (aug = LAHT) and (sept = CAV2) These are for £50 spends but would cover the delivery and a bit more. Hope someone can use them...Every little helpsMake £/day March: £1490.85 / £310
