I go through my freezer (not much ppoint looking in the fridge) and cupboards and reorganise or list whati have so i know there is no need to go shopping!
Then if that fails i make myself carry on with the decorating that i need to finish and get engrossed in that. . . or bake! (then proceed to eat the goodies i have made)

having grandsons to stay for 5 days (8 and 9yrs). For cheap days out I use my Tesco vouchers and also have used them to buy Eng. Heritage membership. Means we can give them lots of 'treats' for no more than petrol costs.
Have also been to London several times using Nat. Express £1 each way fares and as I have bus pass makes for very cheap day out. Museums and galleries are free so with a picnic my only extra cost is a cup of coffee.
Always looking for ways to make budget go further and the tips, advise and support here great; wish I had found this before.0 -
Hi everyone,
Its a NSD for me today yipeeee... the weather is miserable therefore I am less tempted to go out and spend. That said, weekend is almost here and it means SPEND SPEND SPEND with the kids. I am trying to keep it as low as possible. Tomorrow will be taking the little ones to a fun day at the park, all free and we will have a picnic. Soooo hoping to spend very little. On Sunday, we will take the kids to our local aqua park, total cost £ 9.80 for admissions and probably, eat there but I am packing our own stuff as well.
:eek: We dont have anymore milk!!! My husband used it all up making pancakes this morning (We must have at least 50 of them now. Wonders if I can freeze them? :rotfl:). I will go to the local shop tomorrow with exactly 2 pounds lol just to buy milk.
Going back to work later.. after 11 days off! :j:mad: :rotfl:0 -

Yep, they can be frozen, I tend to make a big batch if I get any reduced milk, just layer them with grease proof paper or else they all stick togther, I usually just stick them in the toaster to defrost, very yummy with banana & honey for a quick brekkie
OOOooooOO Thanks a million. I will be doing that right now :T
My kids love pancakes.. I am useless at making them lol I just cant flip the thing :rotfl::rotfl:But my husband is the Pancake Master lolol0 -

Just updating my totals.Still not spending much with all the gifted food I got from SIL freezer disaster.I had some conditional spends for MrT so stocked up on shaving gel and deoderant but it feels funny having to run past the reduced section so I dont get tempted! Off out for lunch tomorrow for my birthday.Free ferry to an island restaurant and always take small bottles of wine and a diddy wee cake for scoffing on the beach afters. It better be sunny! Take care."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0
