    Hiya,

Want2Bdebtfree that doesn't sound very nice with colitis - I hope it continues behaving itself. One of the reasons I had soooooo many clothes was that about 8-10 years ago I started losing weight. Initially I was still eating normally. After about 2 years though I started getting really bad pain and it turned out I had gall stones. It was some while before the whole thing was removed during which time I continued losing weight.

I loved it! Pain was horrible but I could fit into size 12 clothes and even managed one piece that was a size 10. OH hated it and preferred me to be curvy. I kept the weight off for a while after the op but a stint of living on a University campus for two years eating canteen food meant it gradually crept back to my 'normal' size 14. However, over this last year I have definitely progressed to being a size 16 (I have to admit that I prefer my clothes to feel comfortable these days, must be my age ;)) and so all the wonderful size 12s and 14s had to go.

Just taken away the NSD from sig that I added this morning. We went to get our hiar cut today (different budget) and ended up going to town to the butchers, grocers and pet shop.

Treated ourselves (we are on holiday after all :p) to some lovely salt marsh lamb chops which we'll have tomorrow and topped up on eggs, mince and bacon. Just needed a couple of f&v carrots, broccoli, nanas and flat mushrooms (so good with a fry up ;)) from the grocers.

The important change is that from this week I've decided to start including the special diet cat food that we have to buy. This will mean an extra £26 (2x£12.99) minimum per month but as we're consistently under budget these days (ooops thats a temptation for lady fate :naughty:) I feel its silly to leave it out of the challenge. Suppose I could've picked a better month to do it as we're likely to incur a lot more expenditure this month, but hey ho I'm expecting a blown budget anyway so ... may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb!

I'm still in the process of sorting out final financial bits and pieces but thats for my DFW Diary. Just have to say that piggybanking seems a brilliant concept.

Ok my best mate has just arrived so off to have a cuppa with her.

Hope you're having a good day,
    Spigs

Hi - I'd like to join please, although my month doesn't start until the 23rd as this is when we get paid, and I'm hoping we can stick to our budget as we'll be away from the 24th until the 9th September :j

Can you please put me down for £75 - this incl cat food & litter as well as all our groceries (sp?)

We're hoping to pay off our credit card by January 2011, so we can start for a little Lee  so these challenges are doubly important for us!

£11.27 spent in Sainsburys today, although only £8.94 on groceries. The rest was a ceramic dish which was on offer for doing lasagne/pasta bake as my last one cracked.
Got some apples, body spray, baking 'butter', vinegar, porridge oats, syrup, pitta breads and a big pack of noodles. Oh and a packet of bread rolls which my dad snuck into my shopping afterwards when we agreed to go halves on the offer (he paid...naughty man!)

Had my appointment at the hospital earlier this afternoon :D The boot has gone, pins are out and hopefully that's it sorted :) They gave me some dressings for the side of my foot and have booked another appointment for a couple of weeks, but the specialist said to cancel it if everything is ok. Woohoo!

Popped into Mr A on the way home for eggs and came away with eggs, bread (which I did need but had forgotten), Margarita mix:o, and some whoopsies-spinach for tonights tea, chicken Oxo with Feb 2012 date (?) and mint sauce Oct 20011 (again ?), so thats £7.16 to add. Having a NSD tomorrow hopefully :A

Nipped in on the way home tonight. The idea was to check the whoopsies for something like chicken kiev, or something, that I could pop in the freezer then put with some salad I will have in to make a dinner next week. Didn't find any such thing in there so going to casually drop by another couple of nights this week and look. Did however find a pack of Wall's sausages so they are now in the freezer, total spend £1.50.
  • spent £4.10 in farmfoods on milk, bread and cordial. Its gonna be one of those weeks were we are spending daily due to a rubbish, rubbish asda shop.

    hope everyones okay xx

Small spend of 56p on a pack of chewing gum today from the station - updated signature.

I've been good and been using freezer/fridge/storecupboard meals for lunches and dinners. My flatmate has been away so I've been having quite a few 'need to use up this, and this' concoctions which I could never get away with giving my flatmate!

I have got into the habit of putting aside a bit of meat every time I buy chicken/mince/sausages. I then add them up into a bag in the freezer for future meals. One or 2 chicken thighs out of a pack doesn't make a difference to the meal, especially when bulked with veg, but after you've done it 2 or 3 times you get a whole pack of meat for another dinner out of it! :D. Having said that - I will never tell my flatmate this because he will think I am being stingy

I'm going back to my parents on Thursday for the weekend which should mean either no spend all minimal spends.

Hope everyone is okay in the miserable rain sodden weather! :)

Edited to add: I just had a horrible thought and maybe I'm doing a bad thing by adding raw meat to already frozen meat in the freezer! I hope not!
