Advice required regarding credit report please.

Hi All
I wonder if anyone can help please?
I checked my Equifax statutory report today and I have, as I expected, got no late payments on any credit agreements - I have a lot of them as I have some BTL properties and they are 100% on time for six years.
However, I looked under "recent searches" and found eight or so searches by Severn Trent Water with the reason "debt recovery".
I am responsible for the water bills at my BTL properites and they are billed to my home address. I pay them fairly promptly but not always bang on time. ST Water becomes very aggressive about this even if they are a bit late.
It APPEARS that ST Water is attempting to harm my credit status. Why else would they credit search me if there is a later payment and put "debt recovery" against it?
Obviously I am not happy about this and am surprised that ST Water is allowed to do it. I would, if at all possible, like these entries removed from my file.
Does anyone know the ins and out of this situation please?
Thanks in advance.

Have you spoken to ST Water? Why don't you ask them what's going on? I'm not an expert on credit files. You might get better responses to this query on the debt or utilities forums."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Here endeth today’s lesson. You pay them late, they just check up on your situation. To them you are a business, and if you go bust they would lose money. Same as you when you let out your property

Maybe consider direct debits for the bills, that would avoid any late payments ?0 -
I've just re-read the OP. You get bills, you pay them late. Why do you expect your credit rating to be unaffected by this? DDs are the way to go if you have difficulty organising your bill payments."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
