how to package plants for sale on ebay

hi everyone

i need a bit of advice, i have got a few plants to sell on ebay and i was wondering how other people package them correctly so that they arrive still alive? also, what postal service to use so they get the best handling etc.

any advice is welcome, thanks!:)

It depends on the type of plants you are selling. I have small cardboard boxes or special plastic ones for my plug plants or long cardboard tube boxes for larger plants. I either send one plant in the tune eg Aspidistra or cut one in half and send geraniums in that. The size box depends on the plants you are selling. Only use a plastic bag on the roots and send by Ist class mail. I have sent plants to Sweden like this but thats pushing it. Most plants will survive 3 days in the post but not much more. You could use newspaper to pad out the box if necessary but don't use plastic at all, they sweat and rot.
