How did you find him? Did you see other builders? Did you ask to see their previous jobs or speak (face to face) with previous customers? Did you get recommendations from friends or family?
These are all standard recommended actions when looking to find a builder. As you've discovered, paper references don't tell you the whole story.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Jusdt had a peep at your blog. Seems most of the issues are probably down to the owner of the house to me. The pictures are cosmetic attributes etc.
