Let Me Cancel My Overdraft!!!!!!

I have re organised my finances and decided I would rather not have the overdraft , I am not overdrawn,it took me three attempts!!!;

called Nat West action line, "How much would you like it to be madam?" ,me "nothing" "Oh you have to into your branch for that".

went into the branch, queued up "We can't do that for you here, but you will have to see an advisor, by the way why don;t you want your overdraft" me "grr because I don't"

advisor "how can I help you madam" me " I don't want my overdraft", advisor " can I ask you why" me "grr because I don't" advisor "But if you change your mind at a later date we may decline you" me "Decline away idiot fools, take it away, good bye".

Grrr thanks for letting me vent x

    It can take up to 48 hours for it to be removed. Something to do with the way their systems update.

    My husband, many moons ago, had an OD with Nat West, and cancelled it. It had a fee of £9 per month. They cancelled the OD, but continued to take the £9 fee and then charged him for going overdrawn!! Took ages to sort - they really didn't get it.

    Not overly helpful to the OP but I found my overdraft with HSBC incredibly easy to do online, somewhere in the region of three or four clicks, I then got a message through a day or so later to say it had been done. So some banks can get this right.
