Switching electricity supplier
Hi folks
Thanks to a bit of a mess, firstly on our supplier's part and then on ours, we ended up with a prepayment meter and a debt which we're paying off, interest free, at a rate of £5 per week. However, I'd still like to shop around, but does anyone know if it's possible to change supplier when you have a key meter and an outstanding debt?
Thanks

If the debt is less than £200 then you should be allowed to switch.0

I think this only applies if your new supplier is prepared to take the debt over.If the debt is less than £200 then you should be allowed to switch.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
