Hi, If I persuade a friend to change to Eon from EDF, am I, as a customer of Eon, entitled to any rewards? :D.

After all, Sky and Virginmedia do it:)

Not seen a scheme like that anywhere unfortunately, no. Maybe you could persuade them to go via quidco on your PC and share the cashback ?

Absolutely - go through Quidco. £55 cash back for dual fuel switch.

Why is the lack of such tackiness 'unfortunate'?

The companies are happy to give money away via quidco, so they have a marketing budget for online referrals. Seems sensible for them to do a similar thing off-line too, IMO - as the OP says other companies do this. Could even get them new users who don't use PCs, eg some elderly people.

They're also happy to give referral commissions to those oiks who try and accost you in the street/supermarket/exhibitions/knocking on your door when you're having dinner.....you know the ones - who'll say whatever they need to to try and pin the sale on an energy switch (even if it's an out and out lie) whilst knowing precious little about what they're actually talking about.

    Hi Marcus

At present, there are no reward schemes available for persuading your friend to join us.

Sorry I can't be more positive but hope this answers your question.
