On their main site they say

"Tariffs are effective from 15th August 2010 and are subject to change as specified in the Primus Saver terms and conditions. For all non-inclusive calls to UK geographic, UK mobile and international destinations a call set up fee of 9.5p applies. The rates shown apply from fixed line phones. Primus Home Phone Terms and Conditions apply."

Is the call set up fee a new thing. i thought they still used the minimum call method which was i believe 4.00p on non-inclusive landline calls and 7.00p on mobile calls.

Just noticed they charge a wopping 21p a minute to call Orange Mobiles at weekend.

Heinz............ As this seems accurate how does it effect your '6-steps' to cost reduction for BT residential landline subscribers (19-January-2010) when using Primus Saver CPS

It doesn't affect it at all.

My '6 steps' only ever recommended using Primus Saver for the free evening and weekend UK 01/02/03 calls which came with the - no monthly fee - CPS calls package.

Making chargeable calls via Primus was never on the agenda!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
