Laptop power supply query

I need a new power supply for my laptop. The old one is working but the end has snapped off and is currently connected up with a piece of choc-block but I'm running out of cable to keep fixing it :o

It's an Acer Aspire 5930, so I did what anyone else would do and looked on Ebay where there are lots listed from less than a tenner but all of them appear to be UK shipped from chinese based companies. Are these power packs any good or are they likely to burn my house down. I looked on acers own site and they want £65.
Nothing to see here, move along.

The chinese ones barely last 6 months and usually kill the battery or the mainboard in the process.
