spilt liquid on carpet

last week somehow - i dont remeber doing but quite a bit of liquid of some sort ended up on my living room carpet

i have tried to soak up the liquid with kitchen towel but it is not doing anything and the carpet is still wet a wek later

is there anything apart from getting a wet vac to soak up the liquid as it is never gointg to dry out on his own accord

if you dont remember spilling anything and it isnt drying out are you sure there isnt a leak of some kind coming from under the floor?

place a towel onto of the wet area and place something heavy ontop seems to abosrb most of the wetness when we have a spill. Be careful though as it may now go mouldy

So what is this liquid? I assume it isn't just water??
