Cheap way to send excess baggage please

Hubby and I are moving out to Thailand for a year, but despite selling everything we still estimate we are going to have abt 100kg to take with us including all of our diving equipment which we cant leave behind and clothes and laptop etc. We are expereinced travellers so we are paring back to what we can get away with but there is no point leaving clothes at home for a year and then having to buy them when we get there.
The airline tells us they are strict on baggage and charge £34 per kilo for each kilo over 20kg each.
So my question is:
What is the cheapest way to send the excess baggage abroad to Thailand.
We need it there in 4 weeks.
I've taken a quick look at some of the air freight carriers but it is still a fortune.
All suggestions gratefully received

what airline? r u a member of any flyer groups? it is if you work out how much clothes cost over there its a lot cheaper than 34 pounds a kilo. clothes in thailand are very reasonable and you will find clothes that are suitable for teh climate. for example if u r heading to tha islands you will need minimum maybe just a bikini and night wear. try to make sure you REALLY REALLY REALLY need the stuff that u want to take0

If you can wait a bit longer you can send freight by sea very cheaply. I would try some freight forwarders from the Yellow Pages for quotes. They will be able to give air quotes as well. You will need to know both the weight and the volume to get air quotes. For sea quotes it is usually charged on volume only.0

Hi,
I am a Thai student here and know many friends who use Seven Seas to ship things back by sea. It usually arrives within 6 weeks or earlier in Bangkok. My estimate is you'll pay around 160-180 pounds for 4 big boxes.
As you're experienced travellers you would have known that clothes in Thailand are cheap and generally of good quality. So probably bringing only what you need is your best bet. Remember, you will have to ship things back again when you leave Thailand.0
