Are you sure its plugged in?
    Have you connected the aerial?
Did you put batteries in the remote?
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Have you pressed in the power button on the bottom of the left hand side panel of the TV where all the USB/SD Card slots etc are? Its a proper clunky push switch kill the mains switch, not a soft one that basically flicks it into standby. It turns the TV properly off and doesn't just stick it in standby.

Remember where it is because when there are updates, it'll ask you to turn it off and back on again.

What will the updates be? we use top up tv with it so don't use the tv menu for progs..does that make a difference? Also if it has to be turned off can we do it at the wall or does it have to be the unit?
    Thanks!

    Thanks!

On mine there's been a couple of software updates in respect to some black bar issues and the recent one added a film rental to Viera Cast.

You can turn it off at either when it comes up with the message on update.

Ok i'm hoping i dont have to start another thread as really don't want to but need some help.

Tonight is the first night i have actually sat down and watched the tv and tbh i am at the mo not overly impressed..i'm really cross writing that as looked into this tv loads.

The colour was way out when we turned it on and me dh and dd have sat there for ages changing settings etc and getting it what we think is right. Some progs look ok, some look too bright so each one needs doing when watched which seems stupid..i have watched eastenders tonight !!! figured it is a prog that is kind of true to life in terms of peoples faces etc and thought id'e be able to change it easier but there is a red mark running over it which is making faces go from normal to pinker..there is a slight flicker too normally in the corners but tends to be intermittent and can make it look slightly blurry at times..

So do we need to change somehting on it or have we bought a rubbish tv? Quite fed up as the one in our room in comparison is so much better BUT our top up box appears to have given up the ghost so can only see 1 channel but that is another prob!..who wishes she hadn't started all this now?!

Help any ideas what to do?

    Thanks i'll take a look.
Yeah reviews from most places are very good. We have one at work that went up but it is an older model but i really liked it, the man in the shop said wait as this one we have now was coming out and was really good and cheaper than the older one so we waited! I am stupid and tend to go for looks a lot too but did see the one in the shop working and looks great. Like i said most of the time great but the odd time the colour is odd and for what could have been us paying over £600 for it i'm not that impressed right now! Unfortunalty EVERYTHING we buy we have an utter nightmare with..having a new house and everything in it new you think i would have learnt from the stress but no!

Ill read and have a replay! Thanks x

Thanks for forum help. After spending last night and tonight faffing with it from help on there i have decided our 3 year old LG deff has a better picture.
Just watched eastenders as thought it may be something i could set it to easily as one of the onlys thing i watch and got it spot on..most of the time it is i have to admit a perfect picture BUT at times it flickers and the faces are what i would call a little distorted..people on scrren are great but people in the background aren't...kind of fuzzy round the edge. Dd has a prog on now and it looks fab but seems to differ throughout. It also seems to depend on what you watch as to the settings which means possibly changing the setting each time which is just daft!

BUT it was only £480 so not the end of the world..if we had bought it at over £600 i would be not impressed! Think it's just me..EVERYTHING we buy has an issue..think i did something really bad when i was younger!!
