Laptop help (important)

My laptop will not turn on, i had it plugged into the mains but still got a message saying battery urgently low. How comes the battery went flat even when it was plugged into the mains?

I have a Dell Latitude CPX. Is the laptop faulty or mains lead faulty? I'm in the libruary as i obviously can't log on at home. I'll pop back before my time is up and again later when i book another session.

  • Was the power pack itself getting warm? If not, you may need a new power supply.
  • is the green light on the power supply brick? If not, check the fuse.

If the light is on, try it with the battery removed.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

It's not getting warm and the green light is on, it's the mains battery that won't work. Does it mean a new mains battery?

I have to go, i'll try to be back later..if not tomorrow.
