I have just tried it again, and got same price.

But when I scroll down the entry at the bottom of the page gives the new price.

I was in yesterday and picked up 3 5kg bags of basmati rice from a FULL end shelf, with £5 in massive letters above it. It was originally £6.99. on my way out of the store I noticed it had gone through at full price, after waiting 3/4 of an hour at customer services. I was told it was another brand that was £5 not the one I picked up, no apology. So I gave them it back and got a refund. False advertising, yes definitely. I've lost count of the times this has happened to me in store.

  • I'd be fine with it if they could have told me when the offer was on and when it ran out (in the same was as when something is on sale it has to have been at the full price for a certain length of time), but they had no idea if it had ever been that price so I feel like it was a deliberate ploy to pull me onto the website. I've never seen this wine this cheap ever.

    Very annoying.

Tesco do this all the time and on one occassion I got really mad about it and tried to speak the the manager. They were unavailable and a message was left for them. They never got back to me.
They also have a habit of sticking products on the wrong shelf. I once bought a bag marked £8.99. There were about 50 on the shelf but when I got to the till they charged £25.
It seems they only had the small bag on offer but had filled the shelves with the large bags, titled the same but with different barcodes.
They do it with larger packs of things all the time too. Most wont notice, many wont bother to fuss and those who do are made to feel its "our" mistake... so tesco win all round.
