Mobile Broadband

Hi everyone

I'm thinking of buying mobile broadband but am fast getting confused with what's the best deal for me.

Basically, we want it to use whilst we're either away for the weekend. I would like a pay as you go broadband, so we get, say, £10 worth of credit and use £10 worth of credit... then buy some more but most of the ones I've seen say your credit runs out after 30 days.

Can anyone help / suggest a better alternative?

Would you normally visit a rural area or a city/large town? If the former, your choice may be limited by what network you can actually receive rather than the best deal.

Other options include looking round for wi-fi hotspot e.g. McDonalds often have it and is usually free. Hotels will usually offer some sort of internet although it is quite often expensive.

Edit: And are you normally away somewhere in the UK or abroad?

Thanks for the responses. We usually stay fairly rural, but not too rural that you can't pick a mobile signal up.. and we're usually in the UK.

I'll have a look at 3 - but any other advice re "pay as you go" appreciated.

Three and Vodafone both have 30-day expiry on credit. O2 and T-mobile are more like a mobile phone: you top up, then buy access from your credit (around £2 per day/500MB or £7 per week/1GB)

But I've done more than 10 hours surfing.
For £15 you can get 3gb.
It's all on payg, no contract.
