generally, laminate should be laid toward the best light source.
(not across).
north south would be better too, as you have two door ways to sort out.
only the kitchen door is a small problem.
the other way, you will have two door way problems.Get some gorm.0 -

Our stairs comes into the lounge and the bottom step is cruved. We know we can cut a curve in the laminate but was wondering how we would fit the edging here to save a gap between the laminate and bottom of stairs?Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

With a curved bottom step you dont! Remove carpet from the the riser of the bottom step, fit laminate with a 5mm gap (min) then refit carpet. Carpet on these risers is often glued.
The depth of the carpet covers the gap.
