If you have a desktop machine as well, another option is to remove the HDD from the laptop and install it as a secondary drive in the desktop.
Again, if the HDD is in good condition and it's merely system files that are corrupt, you should have access to all your data files via the OS on the primary HDD in the desktop.
Google 'installing secondary desktop drive' or similar.
You can get adaptors from Maplin and similar stores if your laptop drive is one style (PATA/SATA) and the desktop another.....0 -
NO desktop sorry, but do have another HP laptop I bought off ebay a pavillion dv600. so could poss use the caddy hooked up to a usb on this?0
