Hi,
well here's my idea, as I see it, in simple words,
a one gang, a single switch which operates on/off'
a one gang two way, a single switch, but you could have one at top and one at bottom of stairs, and both would operate the stair light,
a two gang would have two switches on the one plate.0 -
1 gang = means 1 switch/socket on a plate
2 gang = means 2 switches/sockets on a plate etc,
1 way = means a light can only be controlled from that switch
2 way = means a light can be controlled from two sources, usually used for the control of a landing light .0 -
Right... ok i think i understand now. Much clearer than before anyway - thank you very much! I just dont think i was cut out for electrics!0

A couple of very lucid descriptions there. Well done frugal and eco.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
