Could anyone advise how much I should expect to pay for 4x2sq m floor tiling ? I'm assuming I'll buy the tiles myself separately, nothing ornate/mosaic etc. So how much for someone to lay them please ?

My OH is a tiler and he charges £20 per square metre, so that would be £160 + materials(adhesive and grout).0

I'm getting quotes including tiling at the moment and one of the builders mentioned £20 per square meter also.0

No preperation and adhesive and grout supplied...............£200 tops.

Thanks all, the problem so far is that neither of the tilers I've called has even bothered to ring me back. Is it too small a job to be of interest do you think ?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. as a self employed tiler, i'd say about £200 that includes adhesive and grout.

There are currently hard old plastic tiles on a concrete floor. They are old, well laid and look like they'd splinter if we attempted to bring them up.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. what is underneath them?
concrete or timber?
if its concrete and they are solid you'd most likely get away with tiling over them.
if its a wooden floor then would need overboarding with 9 - 12mm ply.0 -
I've had a quote for £150 from a tiler, and includes taking up the existing tiles and supplying all materials except the tiles. He said to get 6sq m of tiles. Sound ok to you ?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
