  • The sun is always over the yard arm somewhere in the world so go ahead.
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

  • Yes Tesco, you must be excited. Try not to get too fixated on being mortgage free. It will be a weight off your neck but there will always be other bills. We are mortgage free, but other bills are rising fast. My 25yr mortgage was paid off from just one annual bonus from a city job which I hated (i was in charge of 8 people).

I eventually accepted a clean break agreement for a large 5 figure sum (i had worked in IT at the bank for 14 years), for being constantly late for work and meetings, in part due to my apathy. I became depressed and ended up unable to find work for another 3 years.

DESPITE this, I have found a lackey job which is just 2 days per week, is local, but covers these bills nicely. No stress!!

    I applaud your situation.

Well done on the big win :rotfl:.

    1 more day :j.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    1 day indeed :j:j:j

My boss has resorted to trying to make me feel guilty about going on holidays.. Apparently, I am not only letting myself down, but my colleagues and my peers.. Oh well, my answer to that: I went to the pub at lunchtime and had a great time with colleagues in the pub garden and enjoyed the sunshine :D

I would have expected better from her..more like "go on Froggy, go enjoy your holidays, you deserve it, you've worked your derriere off!"... but no, she prefers pathetic excuses..

Tomorrow will be a fun day I expect.. But I shall use Tilly & GG's techniques to my full advantage.. At 4pm on the dot, I shall leave the office with my head high and enjoy my holidays... I have earnt it.
