temporary layoff advice

temporary layoff, 11th week on, still no word ,what to do now ,me and seven others where temporary laid off.on my last day at work 14th of may 2010,the boss asked for all of us to call back to yard to see him we where all told that we were temporary laid off and he was hoping some work would come in two weeks time ,he told us he would call us each friday to update us on any work coming in, ive never recieved any phone calls,ive been with this company for 6 years ,also ive never taken any holidays ,also when we where laid off he kept the people on he had only started about 4 months ago ,i thought it was last in first out ,the only money i have had off them is the first five days 25 pound a day thats it ,we where all told to apply for jobseekers which im on now advice needed should i just wait or apply for redundancy thanks :think:

First in last out is illegal! Although I doubt that your boss has acted in this way because he is concerned about the law.
I can't answer the issue of holidays - there isn't enough information given, and holidays only apply if you are an employee - which I am not sure of yet.0 -
yes i am a employee so are the rest, ive read the the booklet from acas but it says to claim redundancy in a 13 week period, as its a 11 weeks already does this mean if i just wait, after the 13 weeks is up ,will my job just close and i will entitled to nothing0

After 4 weeks you are entitled to claim redundancy from your employer. The 13 weeks reference is if there are several layoffs in a period. The process is here:
