  • I had a strange letter today. It was from Npower - my current gas/electric supplier.
I am in the process of switching to Scottish Power so I assumed the letter was about that. It wasn't.
Basically, several years ago, Npower did a few naughties in calculating the gas charges and the regulator told them to refund. So this letter had a barcode on it which will allow me to collect my refund (about £27) from the post office. No problem so far. Happy to be getting £27+ out of the blue. I was aware of the refund so had been expecting to hear from them at some point.
The trouble is that several weeks ago Npower deposited £70+ into my account (the one from which they take direct debits). I had assumed this was for the gas overcharge from 2007.
So I'm left wondering why they have given me this extra money but I don't want to ask them :D . I really needed it this month too.
I do know that my direct debit has dropped by a tenner after I gave them actual readings rather than being lazy and letting them guess. So maybe they have some rule that stops them from allowing a customer to get too far into credit is the best guess I can currently make.

I'm so rubbish... sorry everyone. Thanks Silaqui for taking over.... I've been so busy and not been sleeping this weekend. Trying to get the letting agent to sort out the damp as it's getting worse every day.... I'm also feeling down again and have a constant feeling of dread in my stomach, like something awful is about to happen. I think I'm going to have to try and get a couple of hours with the counsellor again as I really don't want to take pills - no offence intended for those that are on them, I just don't think I can handle them.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so down psycho - (((hugs)))
