Red top flycatcher

I love to have my windows and back door open all day in summer....but seem to be plagued by flies coming into the house. I REALLY cannot bear them and cannot rest till I have eradicated visitors with either spray ( toxic ) or fly swatter ( messy )
SO....this year I invested in a Red top flycatcher for the garden
It is amazing, in a totally disgusting way. I have had it hanging in the garden for a week or so and it has to contain over 1000 dead flies. Euch
Drawback is that is stinks when you get near it....and from my hammock (!!! ) I can hear that buzz of flies which I hate so much.
Anyway....now I am concerned about how to dispose of it. The packaging says to slit it open and empty it into a compost heap. But surely, now the compost heap will become irresistable to flies ( there is a pheromone in the bait ) and unlike inside the trap..on the compost heap they will not be drowned.
Same issue if I pour it down a drain I guess.
Anyone have any experience of this trap...or advice?

Never heard of them myself, but I'd just wait until bin day (so it's not hanging about in your bin too long) and then bag it up and chuck in with your rubbish.0

Hmm, yes...but there is about a litre of fly attracting fluid in this thing so I am worried about spillage. I suppose using a couple of really tough bin bags well tied up could do the job.
The trap is an amazing thing. There are now literally THOUSANDS of dead flies, and several dozen live ones trapped inside.
Part of me thinks I am attracting all the flies in a 10 mile radius to my back yard, but the theory is that most of the trapped flies are females and thus the idea is to be stopping the egg laying cycle.
Gosh...this bait would be a fantastic way to get back at someone you really hated.......0
