Has something happened to the layout?

I cannot see the "new posts" icon, so have to go to the full forum view. Is it me or is it the site?

What exactly do you mean by "New posts icon"?

I can think of several things you might be referring to, but without being sure it's hard to comment much more.

However, I haven't noticed any obvious changes?

Sorry, the green tool bar which has the forum shortcuts on including"new posts" is way over to the left of my screen, and I cannot centre it so that I can access all the functions.

Weird? It's all just fine here?

Have you tried clearing your browser cache? Sometimes something as simple as that fixes things.

If you try a different browser, do you get the same thing?

Otherwise the MSE techie team usually want a few details so they can try to work out what is going on.

    - What browser you are using and what version?
    - What operating system/version are you on?
    - What your display resolution is set to?

I think it must besomething to do with the resolution, but it is fine on IE. On firefox the green bar is too far tothe left. What is the optimum resolution? have been changing stuff but not sure what the fugures should be.

I cant see the "forum contains new posts icon" on firefox. Although I cant see them on IE either.

for example: click on this link http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4

scroll to the bottom and you see the two icons on the left as a key. However, the icon that used to appear on the left of the forum title disappeared with the revised forum layout.

If you revert to the old look, you will see the icon on the left of the forum name and it shows if the forum has new posts or not. The icon name is "forum_new.gif" or "forum_old.gif"
