paypal dispute - how long?

I escalated a paypal dispute (non reciept of goods) on 2nd sept. It's status is still 'awaiting sellers response'.

How long does it usually take? I figured 7 working days but that would've been yesterday.

    Log into Paypal and click on the dispute. It will then tell you the status and when it is expected to be closed. It will await sellers response all the way up to the close date....I believe!

    Did you open the paypal dispute on the 7th or did you escalate the dispute into a claim on the 7th?

    I thought that once it was escalated then they didnt need a sellers response and it was then down to paypal to make a desicion?

    It will take a lot longer than 7 days. First the seller has so many days to respond then, you have time to respond then paypal review the situation. It all depends on what each party say. I had two reasonable straight forward cases and they took three weeks.
