Is the B.O.S £5 Account the same as the Halifax?

Hello, my gf and i currently have a Halifax reward account that we fund with £1000 per monthy, yesterday i noticed that Bank Of Scotland do the same account, is this the same account please? ie- would holders of the Halifax account be able to apply for the bos one?

No you cannot break the limit on the number of reward current accounts by applying for Bank of Scotland as well.

You CAN hold both Bank of Scotland and Halifax Reward Accounts. We have six!

My fiance and I both hold a personal Bank of Scotland and Halifax Reward Account each, then we also hold Joint Accounts with both BOS and Halifax.

The required £1000.00 moves through the six accounts each month and we get £30.00 of rewards each month.

All the accounts were opened online.

Yes, they are one legal entity but just different trading nameL

This was previously the case, but now you are only allowed one sole and one joint account, regardless of whether they are BoS or Halifax branded. I think there is something in the T&Cs about this restriction.

Indeed, I have 4 sole Halifax Reward accounts.

I did have 3 BoS Reward accounts as well...very briefly because, although I'd been given the sort code and account numbers, they closed them down before I'd chance to fund them!
