Ombudsman

Martin, you advise people to seek advice from the ombudsman about PPI. This is correct, but, from personal experience the ombudsman has no real power to enforce these companies to pay out when they say they will. I have had three different dates when they said they would pay me my money. This has dragged on now for eight months and still no money. My point is, the ombudsman should have the power to fine these companies and give extra money to the people who are waiting for their claim. They wouldn't be so keen to hang on to peoples money then. I know they have to pay interest on the money owed but, it would give that bit more power to the ombudsman which i think they need.
