Once is an (entirely avoidable) accident..."sometimes" (inferring more than once) is negligent and/or reckless on your part.

Lenders view overlimit breaches more seriously than missed payments so...

...yes it will, both internally and, if you're overlimit on the CRA reporting day, with other lenders as well.

    unfortunately, yes it probably will.

it makes you look like a bad risk. its all done by computers now, there is very little human input, so if you are outside the parameters of the new card/loan application then ( sorry ) its your own fault

it is only normally for one to three days until i realise , its only the second time its happened ( actually because my partner uses my card for doing up the house ( he hasnt got one ) and pays it in full each month, so i actually dont know what hes bought until its too late, yes he better not do that again!!! )

should it be ok if its only the second time, just wondering how angry to be at him lol

With my credit card I was a month behind payments so my payday was literally 1 or 2 days after the due date so like you, I was out a couple of days.

It really does affect your credit rating, big style! I'm not sure how much it has affected me as I'm now on time and up to date with all payments and in all honesty, I know my credit rating is bad already but those late payments have probably caused it to be much worse.

C'est le vie! I've learnt from my mistake now and ALWAYS make sure I pay on time

Or perhaps at yourself for letting him?

Seriously, first thing is, are you being charged default notices? If so then they are probably notifying CRA's, but if not you are lucky.

My wife once missed a payment on her HSBC CC yet she didn't get a fee so it probably didn't register.

Funnily enough Barclaycard approved me for my credit card in November whilst I was over limit on my Aqua card.

It actually said on my credit files when they did the credit search that the Halifax (Aqua) card was at £363 on a £350 limit and Barclaycard still said yes.

So depending on the lender it may have no impact atall. But it's a massive waste of £12 and will count heavily against you with that card issuer. They may reduce your limit massively when you clear a chunk of your balance.

EDIT: In regards to missing payments, this is a massive no no. Just one late payment can have an effect for atleast a year, more if you do it again. Absolutely never miss payments or pay late unless you want to ruin your credit score.
