Best Wedding List Service?

Hi all,

planning everything manically now! Just wondered, does anyone have any tips for a good wedding list service? Something that will have a nice range of prices, and easy to use, for people coming from all over the UK and a couple form the USA! I was thinking trying out Amazon's new service, but a little wary of doing something totally online.

thanks all :)

Debenhams give you a free £50 gift card when you register your list, regardless of if anyone buys of it. It's worth registering just for the free £50!

We had our list at John Lewis and their service was fantastic from beginning to end. We had contemplated Debenhams, but we don't actually have a store near close to us and if guests buy over the internet then there is a fee for delivery, whereas John Lewis don't charge at all.

    Just our personal preference though!

We had ours at Debenhams, initially at Leeds City Centre, then we wanted to transfer it to the bigger White Rose store outside of Leeds

Have to ay the latter were a lot better and more helpful and couldn't of done enough and it can all be done online so those travelling from the US don't have to cart all of the stuff rom there

we did argos and debenhams (6yrs ago), so they were essential items and on the whole cheaper items on the argos one (kettles, irons, cutlery, sheets etc) and the rest on debenhams. This way people could buy what they could afford/give argos/deb vouchers.

Both were fine with regards ordering on line/in store and were delivered without any problems to us.
Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞

We had our list at John Lewis. They were superb from start to finish.

Your guests can purchase things online, in a JL store or over the phone so no problem for overseas guests (we had many). They have no problem getting things in that they don't usually stock (for example if you want a particular Denby range that they don't usually carry, they will get it in for you, although only if they already stock things by that manufacturer).

Delivery is free and the delivery turned up bang on time. Everything was carefully packaged (china wrapped in bubble wrap etc) and accounted for.

I cannot reccommend them highly enough.
  • Seems like John Lewis are the guys to go with, though we are thinking of setting up something that will allow people to pay into to go towards out honeymoon, which we are having the year after. Doe anyone know how I can do this?

Definitely set up a list with Debenhams for the free £50 - you don't have to use them after that. That's a good return on a half hour spent in store!

    I used this company

    https://www.whattogive.com

Its run by one bloke who started it as a hobby. You can merge lists from different companies and just add randon things with online links

To view my list (I am now married) to see what they look like you can type in my email

    alisonross007@googlemail.com

Everyone loved the list and found it really easy to use.

    Love alison xxx
