The order of services' from the reception we did was a coloured piece of A4 paper for the cover with a wihte piece inside. They were horizontal (landscape?) with one staple in the centre of the two so it was like a booklet? The front cover had a couple of pics on two rings together that kind of thing with the bride and grooms name and the place of the ceremony. The inside -the white paper had details of readings and hyms etc. Does that make sense?

You are suppposed to get copyright if you are reprinting words of songs, maybe readings too, unless the writer has been dead for about 70 years - I think

Order of service means the list of prayers and hymns of a church service, for a wedding or funeral.

A civil ceremony can't contain anything religious, so 'order of service' isn't used for that. Like the others have said, it's normally then called an 'order of the day'.

I'd check with your registrar too that you can have that wording.

    Have a look here : http://www.nofreetime.com/wedding_stationery/order_of_service/default.aspx

OK so just call it an Order of Ceremony. Dont really see why you're being so anal about it.

I'm having an 'Order of Ceremony' which will have all names if the readings etc and who's reading them, the order of our vows etc, just like in a church.

Then a whole seperate thing for 'Order of Day' that has the timings for each thing taking place.
    ie 2.30pm Ceremony
    3.00pm Photos
    etc...

If the OP wants to have it all in one booklet, just dont call it anything then!
Just make a booklet with you names and wedding date on the front etc. Easy!
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire

Sorry, didnt mean to confuse anybody, but as the literature from the registry office called it 'order of service' i thought i could do the same - as in have timings of ceremony, readings, and at the bottom just what time dinner is in case anyone goes for a wander lol :)

will have a go at making a booklet, thanks for the ideas :)
